4-H Film Festival
A film showcase for youth
Participants create and submit a 1 to 5 minute film to be evaluated. The top three films in each category will be screened at the Iowa 4-H Film Festival event. Judges select winners for each category award and Best of Festival award, and Festival audience members will vote for the People’s Choice award.
Triumphant Brass Coming to Vinton
The Triumphant Brass from Maranatha Baptist Bible College of Watertown, Wisconsin will present a concert of sacred music sponsored by Faith Baptist Church of Vinton on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. It will be held at the US Bank Community Building at 401 A Avenue, Vinton, IA.
The Triumphant Brass members will be presenting a variety of conservative Christian brass selections.
Cooling Dance Center to hold 20th Anniversary Recital
Cooling Dance Center will hold their 20th Anniversary Dance Recital entitled " Dance Crossing" today, Saturday June 5th at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. as well as on Sunday June 6th at the same times. (These are corrected times)
The recital will be held at the VSHS Auditorium, admission is $3.00

TONIGHT - The Red Cedar Chamber Music will present "Kaspar the friendly..." at the United Wesley United Methodist Church, located at 516 2nd Ave. in Vinton. Concert begins at 7 p.m.

The program this year is about the importance of water in our live; weather. oceans, rivers, ponds, and teh animals that live on, in or near the water.
Children ages 2-18 are invited to register for a variety of programs at the Vinton Public Library, located at 2nd Ave.
Chidlren may register beginining today, June 4. To register, simply fill out a form at the library or click HERE to download a form to bring in.

Iowa County Pasture Walk Set for June 17
Holbrook, Iowa – Beef producers are invited to attend a pasture walk, scheduled for Thursday, June 17, at the Bob Faber farm located 2 miles east of Holbrook.
“We have a great agenda planned with presentations that any beef producer would find useful,” says Byron Leu, Iowa State University (ISU) Extension Program Specialist.
Memorial Day Services In the Area
VINTON
Memorial Day ceremonies for American Legion Post 57, will be this Monday, 8:00 am at Maplewood Cemetery, 8:15 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery, and 8:30am at Evergreen Cemetery. Beginning at 10:00 am the march to the river bridge and at 11:00 am program at the new Veteran's Park by the Parks and Recreaction Center and Cedar River.
